Privacy and data handling
This page explains how data entered in Check by DesignTech is used and retained.
Data used
For business checks, the domain, URL, contact email, company name and industry provided may be processed. For personal checks, the email the person chooses to check is processed and, if applicable, an alternate email to receive the result.
Purpose
The data is used exclusively to run the requested check, generate the report, manage its access, send communications related to the result, and handle deletion requests.
External sources
The personal check may query external services specialized in data exposure. The LeakCheck public API is currently used. No passwords, cookies, access codes or complete credentials are requested or stored.
Retention
Free reports are kept for 3 days from the check. Unlocked reports are kept for 3 months from the original analysis date. Early deletion can also be requested using the mechanism available in the result.
Report privacy
Personal reports use a private link with a token. The link should not be shared. Results are not published or shown to other users.
Administrative notifications
The party responsible for the service may receive a summarized notification of each personal check. That notification records acceptance of the conditions and a general status, without including passwords, cookies, private tokens, or the full detail of the sources.
Limitations
No system can guarantee zero risk. Results may depend on external sources, contain historical information, or not reflect exposures that have not yet been detected or published.
Contact and deletion
Privacy-related requests can be made through the DesignTech contact form. Personal reports also include a specific option to request early deletion.
